I assume you've got a separate folder for this mailing-list...
(well, I least I have)

Just put these macros in the template:
%BCC="Music-Lovers " %TO="Mp3-List-members"
In which case 'mp3-list-members' will be shown & everybody in my group
'Music-Lovers' gets a bcc of it, only showing 'Mp3-List-members'...

Where to find this template: just right-click on the folder...
you can even change your identity here...

I hope you can use this info...

You can download the messagebase-repair-tool:
http://www.ritlabs.com/ftp/pub/the_bat/beta/mbrepair.zip

Note that if a mailbox was password-protected, it won't be repaired.

Unpack it & run it like this:
syntax is : mbrepair messages.msb bad2.tmp

I hope this helpes you out...

What I also do is:
- make complete backups of my mail-directory every day (little
  vb-script)
- leave my messages 1 day on the server:
when downloads are corrupted, I can still get them of the server if
  everything else fails

Good Luck

Re: TB Message Scrolling feature suggestion

1999-10-06 Thread Keith Russell

I'm a little slow responding to this thread, but I'm with Allie 100%
wrt her comments on TheBat! versus Agent's keyboard navigation.

I switched to using Agent for email (from Pegasus and Eudora) several
years ago when I bought it for its newsgroup features. One of the
things I liked the most about it was its keyboard shortcuts. I do use
a mouse a lot, but for some purposes, such as navigating through
messages, it's a pain to switch back and forth.

Now that Agent has fallen behind the email client competition in some
important areas, I am in the process of switching, but am having a
hard time finding a client that includes some of Agent's really nice
features, of which this is one. I tried out The Bat, then Becky, and
am back to giving The Bat another try.

I'm aware of the space bar shortcut, and Ctrl-] for moving to the next
unread message. Is there a list of these, and all keyboard shortcuts
somewhere (other than the message editor keystrokes, which are well
documented in Help)?

I just encountered one other irritant of The Bat--having to reformat a
paragraph after making changes to it. This is all automatic in Agent.

Also--Why does The Bat (and Becky, too) have such trouble threading
messages properly? Broken threads are really rare in Agent, but with
The Bat, I find myself switching to Subject Threading because
Reference Threading losing messages--but Subject Threading doesn't
give them to me in the correct sequence. Are there plans to fix this?
(I realize that threading is rare in email clients, but this is the
one thing that has restricted my search to The Bat and Becky; most
software developers don't even bother with this!)

Thanks.

Best regards,
 Keith Russellmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

A fews of these are out of date: in general Ctrl+Enter should have
been replaced with the Windows-standard Alt+Enter to bring up
properties of an object.

(Oh yeah - Alt+Double Click *should* have the same effect, but
currently doesn't.)

1999-10-06 Thread Joris

Hello TBUDL,

Again, another id:

1) Time in internet beats, so sorting messages by creation-time is
correct for everyone, whatever time-zone they are in. Of course, this
requires another TB-only field in the message header.

2) A recipient-dependant template. For example, it would be possible
to change your header/footer automaticaly from "Yo
[boss]" to "[something very polite][boss]".

3) A macro to configure in a template if you message needs
pgp-signing/encryption. In combination with id 2, a very powerfull
feature.

  Greetings,
   Joris
