Regular Expression

2000-06-12 Thread Assad Toorab

Hello everyone,

I just installed The Bat! on my computer and I would like to configure
it in such a way that whenever a particular line appears in an email,
the bat will automatically strip it off and replace it by another
line.

It seems that this can be done with regular expression macros but it
is beyond me to use it to formulate the appropriate expression.

Thank you in advance for anyone who will response.

Assad

DL (Still using 1.41 cos I couldn't see any reason to upgrade)

Well, one reason to upgrade would be that 1.42 and later use new
format of message base which is faster. Also processing attachments is
faster.

I assume you mean a reply posting to Someone is using the default reply template
rather than the reply template as defined for TBUDL in the address book.

I also assume that your Bat filters TBUDL to a separate folder, as this is the
wise course of action. :-)

If both of these assumptions are indeed true, I would say you should copy the
reply template for TBUDL in the address book to the reply template in the TBUDL
folder properties. I don't believe the address book TBUDL template will be used
in a message to Someone TBUDL@, but a TBUDL folder's reply template will be
used in any replies generated in that folder.

I don't think it would be a good idea if it were possible to reply in
plain text to an encrypted message - it kinda defeats the objective
of
encrypting it in the first place :) I think it's best that no email
client is even capable of it, really... nothing like a hacker finding
sensitive information in the reply text of a message.

Re: Turning off auto-completion

2000-06-12 Thread Jast

Morning Clif Oliver,

Did not work. It looks like the Count key is a counter of how many
history strings there are with a maximum of 40. There are two other
keys. ParkCount which is sent to 0 and #Default which is not set.

Oh well, could have been worth the try :-) I messed around a little with
those values, but couldn't find out how they are to be used. So, unless
somebody comes up with something, I guess you'll have to delete a subject
in history from the list manually (by pressing delete in the selection
 window)

Yeah, if you prefer the user interface in an as-yet unsupported

really would prefer TB! to show up in Basque or some such... :)

Yes, I would like to see something along those lines. We already have a
similar feature in place, because if you create a child folder, then have
unread messages in that child folder, the parent folder will show with a
red check mark indicating unread mail.

Something like that could just as easily be implemented to show "Pending"
mail, couldn't it? Perhaps a check mark in a different colour, or the
ability to choose the colour the Folder Icon via Filtering Options?

In your first message you wrote that after upgrading do Win98 TB

beginning you should've only added accounts, using exactly the same

BTW, this problem is returning periodically, Leif, is it in your FAQ?
