Can I keep sent mail in same subfolder?

2001-11-16 Thread Miles Johnson

I receive tons of mail. Much of it is directed to subfolders in my various
accounts via simple TB filters. When I go to a subfolder and reply to a
message, is there a simple way to have MY message, once sent, go into that
subfolder rather than in the sent folder?

Best,

Hello Miles,

On Freitag, 16. November 2001 at 14:57:52 you wrote (at least in

I'm concerned no.
There's no way known to me, telling a message what folder it is
created from, therefore no way telling the outgoing filter what's the
source to filter for.

Before somebody screams out to use folder templates for creating a
string to filter for: that would not work in that moment a AB-template
is used, therefore it ain't practical :-(

One thing could be using quicktemplates. The way would be creating one
quicktemplate for every folder used as 'to filter for'. This
quicktemplates than must contain '%COMMENT=whatever-but-unique'.
If you're creating a mail (new, reply or forward) you have to enter
'quicktemplate-name'+Ctrl+Space to become this comment added into
header.

Now you could use outgoing filters and search for

Comments: whatever-but-unique

in headers (kludges) to identify the mails. The disadvantage is: this
comments become transferred to your mail partner too! So as a work
around they may work, but it ain't practical in my eyes.

Sign Doc with S/MIME

2001-11-16 Thread Eddie Castelli

Hi folks from 'TB!udl List',

If you have PGP installed you can also Sign Documents and not only
your TB! Mails. Generally you must right click on a Document and
select PGP|Sign.

Q: can this also be done with a S/MIME certificate?

Thank you for you answers in advance :-)

That's because NAV is not aware of TB! as an email client. If you want
NAV 2001 to protect your TB! accounts you need to manually adjust you
pop3 server setting in your email account as described in NAV's help
file.

I saw the comment about setting NAV2001 manually to accept other
e-mail clients. Unfortunately, the file they referred to was not in
my folder. I had an OEM version, which apparently was not something
Symantec considered a product worthy of changing.

concerning a template suggestion

2001-11-16 Thread Rick Reumann

BatList,

Hi, I'm new to The Bat, and so far I've been greatly impressed. This
is coming from a 5 year Pegasus mail user. I think I'm going to
switch to The Bat for several reasons but that's not the reason for
  this email.

The one thing a bit frustrating is I don't always want to use a
template when starting a new mail message. The following suggestion
  was posted in the archive:

No. There isn't a switch available to toggle off templates. The Bat!
is heavily template driven and the only way to eliminate templates
appearing is to actually delete the template in the template editor,
otherwise you have to delete the template each time.

However you could do something that would make life a little easier
than having to delete the new message template each time.

Create a quick template which contains only the macro %Clear. Give it
a short handle name like 'cl'. Whenever you create a new message and
wish not to use the template, just type 'cl' and then
 ctrlbackspace.

¡Opinions given are mine and not necessarily those of RITLABS!

My question concerns activating this macro after typing 'cl' and
then ctrlbackspace. This doesn't seem to be working on my
machine here at work (win2k). I'm sure I'm just being an idiot but
would like to be able to get this hotkey combination to work. I've
saved a quick template with the handle 'cl' and the correct macro.
It works when I select the template from the toolbar but not when I
try to do the hitting ctrl and backspace thing.

  What am I doing wrong?

  Thanks

I've never done that myself, but IIRC, he'll need to import his messages
into Outlook Express and then import them from OE into TB! (using the
import wizard).
