If when you open a reply or new mail you go to the 'Spell
Checker' menu, you can turn it off by unchecking the 'auto
check' option. It seems to turn it off for all accounts,
though - works for me, but doesn't seem quite right. But
you can manually check, of course.

In Selective Download, the only options you have are Kill
and Ignore. If they are getting downloaded, your filter
Condition is not being satisfied.

If, OTHOH, you are using and Incoming mail filter, that's
how they work - they operate after the download.

Abort Spell Check and Send?

2004-09-17 Thread Mike Dillinger
Hello,

I'm using The Bat! v3.0. I'm trying to find a way to abort spell checking
and send the mail. I'm on some mailing lists where I'm sending code out
and don't want to spell check those. Right now I have to either keep
clicking "Ignore All" until I've hit the end of the message, or turn off
the "Check before send/queue" feature.

Is there a way to abort spell checking and just send the message?

No its under incoming messages. Should it be under selective

That's very little in the TB scheme of things. I have a main account

containing 25k mails.

The answer to folder access speed is usually regular maintenance -
compress those inbox, outbox and sent folders regularly.

TB getting slow, taking lots of memory (with lots of emails in store)

2004-09-17 Thread Jack
I have about 25k emails in about 20 accounts. I notice that
it's getting slower and slower to start TB, or open a account/folder
with a large number of emails. And lots of HD readings are involved when
opening the heavily populated folders. I'm running a P3 800MHz. TB is
taking from 70MB to 140MB memory constantly, always at the top in
Task Manager if sorted against memory usage.

Does this happen to other users, too? I'm a little concerned as
the number of emails is ever growing and my PC gets less and less
usable as long as I keep running thebat. Soon I'll have to have a
dedicated PC for reading emails.

I'm using 2.12. I hope TB will come up with a solution that accesses
HD and uses memory in a smart way to make the footprint minimum.

Jack

I have a small problems with filters. I want to delete mails over 1 MB

Filter: read message moving to folder does not work any more when the folder is moved

2004-09-17 Thread Edgar van Dijk
Hello All,

I use a filter to move a read message to a folder.
In version 2 I could move this folder with shift-ctrl up and
down to other folders and the filter still worked (the was
dynamic). This does not work in version 3 any more the reference
to the folder is permanent.

Will this change? I thought it was a nice thing that you could
move a folder and the program could still find it.
