Use Avast instead. 
Works like a charm with The Bat!, Thunderbird and Courier. I use them all
on a Win XP system...

no. the need for 'ignore thread' is especially well demonstrated by
the thread which had a new message when I logged on just now which was
dead horse'd yesterday. even the most trusted source -list- has
threads which need ignoring, and one shouldn't have to make filters
for each.

The one I get on mine (v2.6)is http://en.barin.com.ua/soft/mygate  but I
also get a 404 with this link.

Yes, I use TB with MyGate for newsgroups.

The URL used to be http://en.barin.com.ua/soft/mygate but I get a 404
when I  try it now.
