Thanks to the help from the guys in the Czech Bat! list, I was given the suggestion to try the latest Beta version, 4.2.10.12, and keyboard shortcuts editing works again. Hooray! However, as to smileys, these still aren't displayed, despite identical settings the presence of the IMAGES folder, as compared to version 3.xx, which is the last time I ever saw smileys displayed here. It looks like this may have been caused by a conflict in versions, too. Believe it or not, the smileys are *slowly* coming back. :-O I wouldn't have thought this possible, but right now in *some* emails, the smileys aren't displayed, and in other emails (like this one I'm currently composing), they are displayed OK. Well... anyway... my warm recommendations to everyone to upgrade to the 4.2.10.12 Beta version, as it seems to have worked wonders on my computer, compared to the most recent regular release, 4.2.10.1, where I could neither see any smileys, nor edit any keyboard shortcuts... -- Yours, Alex. of Slovakia www.avenarius.sk [flying with The Bat! 4.2.10.12 under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Intel Core2 T5600 @ 1.83GHz 1GB RAM] Current version is 4.2.10.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

But as soon as I launch TB! and reassociate it and make it the default email client I am unable to add attachments to the newly created email. Not at all? Or can only add them manually after creating the message? In Firefox I can send a link and the TB! message created includes the link, but that is a different process, and not attaching files. So, does everyone else's setups work okay then? I can right-click a file on the desktop or explorer window and select send to and then either mail recipient or The Bat!. TB! opens if it is not already open, and a selection box appears to pick which account to send from. After picking an account, a new message opens with the file attached but my templates are not used. The message body is either blank or just says Your files are attached and ready to send with this message. (The best option for me if TB! is already open is to drag and drop - that way my templates are used.) Similar behaviour if I follow the options to send a file from within MS Paint. Trying to send a link from Firefox looks as if it will work until I put in an addressee and move to the message body - then the link disappears and the message body is populated by the relevant template. I cannot send a file by email from within MS Word as the menu option is greyed out. Restoring Folder Messages
Hello To check out an old hard disk, I connected it to my computer. I found an old version of The Bat! in there and wondered what messages I might have in that old hard disk. So I opened that version of The Bat! thinking that it would show up the old messages. Wrong move! It only showed up the messages that are now what I have. That not being what I wanted to know, I closed the program. A warning message, which seemed to be like a slap on the hand, admonished me that I should *never* open the old program again. Ouch. OK. Point taken. But when I opened up the current version of the program, certain folders, including the one I had for OpenOffice, which had nearly 1,300 messages, were empty - not all folders, but about a third of all of them. No problem. I just restored the folders by using the Tools/Restore function using the autobackup file (which backup I had elected to do daily), and by opting for folder selection. Everything went well, all empty folders were restored - except for the OpenOffice folder. It said that there was an error reading the backup file. This is where I call upon the collective intelligence of the List: Is there a way of 're-indexing' that folder, i.e. making that part of the backup for the OpenOffice folder readable again? Waiting anxiously with fingers crossed - only of the left hand; the right is for manipulating the mouse :-0. -- Best regards, Chew Yoke Lim mailto:ylche...@gmail.com Current version is 4.2.10.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
