Spyware/trojan targets TB!

2006-08-08 Thread Cricket
Make sure your anti-spyware and anti-virus data files are up to date ...

From a recent issue of Esecurityplanet:
RuSpy.A is a Trojan that obtains the usernames and passwords from certain
programs, such as ICQ, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Outlook, and The Bat!,
among others. The harvested information is then sent to its author in an
email message.

First thing that comes to mind is that it's a K9 issue.
After all it
doesn't matter to TB as it's always downloading from
localhost.

The first thing that struck me was, Is the SMTP agent
really sending? Or is it queueing until it finds a healthy
connection? As far as TB is concerned it was able to
successfully send - to the SMTP agent. So it would appear
to TB your mail was sent.

I think I can follow what MT was asking ... I have the %Cookie=...

They come from the Cookie Window that is loaded at

Mayhaps this should go to the suggestion box, but instead of
preloading the tags, this could be set to contain a listing of cookie

to content. And when you want to insert a cookie, you can select from
a specific file or random.

Remail server is out of service

Howdy All ,

Because mail.com (iname.com) is restructuring their servers, they have
misplaced the mindless.com domain. Thus, I am not receiving very
much email via [EMAIL PROTECTED]; at best I appear to be getting
about 10% of my regular mail. Until they are done trashing thier

Maybe my wording wasnt good. What I was meaning was for the first 30
days, TheBat! would be FULLY functional - to let you see what you will
be missing when it shifts to stripped down Lite mode at the end of
the 30 day period. So you can fully test it out first, get used to
your macros, multiple accounts, html viewing, PGP, text search,
cookies, etc. At the end of the 30 days, these would be disabled. You
can still read/access your email. But you could only download from one
account, not be able to view in HTML, no built-in signature
verification or inclusion of your own digital signature. .. Maybe even
add a nag message to the inbox.

The UNIX operating system relies heavily on RE to do a multitude of
administrative functions. For example search within files for unique
sequences, as arguments to search the entire operating system,
development of lists to feed into shell routines (ie loops) for
cleaning up directories, the ONLY way to do any editting with the most
basic of text editors: "ed", and ditto for vi and sed.

There is no need to install PGP. Doesnt TB! have a built in PGP
module? ... under Tools-Privacy-PGP_Version

C Yes !

Methinks that will require scripting which should be available in
Version 2.0 when it is release.

AH Hello TBUDL,

AH This is my first posting, as I just downloaded and registered the
AH bat! today. I find that the simple filtering is not working. If I
AH highlight a message and then right click my way to create filter (or
AH hit Ctrl-Shft-F) nothing happens. I am able to access the fuller
AH features via Sorting office/filters under the Account pull-down
AH menu. But I find this rather complicated at this stage.

hmmm I get something to happen, but it isnt Filter Creation. I get
Advanced Find. Just to double check,

ctrl-shift-F = advanced find
ctrl-F = foward message
shift F = quick search
alt-F = folder drop down
alt-shift-F = folder drop down
ctrl-alt-F = nothing

Mayhaps I'm using wrong charset?
