Nameless/Nonexistent Mailboxes causing trouble.

2016-07-31 Thread Jonathan Andrew Sheen
Hello All,

The other day, my PC shut down on its own, and since then, I've had
two mailboxes with no names and no content, which cause errors every
 few seconds.

Here's a sample of the error:

 !7/31/2016, 14:50:42: IMAP - Folder
\\jsh...@leviathanstudios.com\[Gmail]\Mailing Lists\Comics\ has empty IMAP name

I've tried to delete the nonexistent mailboxes, but they don't
delete, and many more errors are generated.

 Any suggestions?

Like a revenant from a decade ago.... Quick Search in the middle of Message List

2016-01-20 Thread Jonathan Andrew Sheen
Hello all,

Somehow a little "Quick Search" text box has shown up over the middle
of the "Message List" pane. (Did I try to type while I had that pane
in focus? Possibly.)

The problem is that I can't get rid of it!

The Quick Search window can't be dragged using the left or right mouse
button.

Workspace | Toolbars | uncheck "Quick Search" gets rid of the Quick
Search toolbar above the message list pane, but not the text box over
the Message List.

Putting a cursor into the text box and hitting "Escape" closes The
BAT!

Googling for the problem, I found this thread on this list from 2006,
seen at the link below. I see no sign that the OP's problem was
solved.

https://www.mail-archive.com/tbudl%40thebat.dutaint.com/msg89511.html

Can anybody help me get rid of this?

Reproducing directory structures between versions of TB

2004-12-21 Thread Jonathan Andrew Sheen
Hi, All,

I'm using The Bat! 2.11.02, and I'm trying to make a _very_
complicated directory structure and filter set work identically on
both my desktop and my laptop machine. It originated on my desktop.

Now, the desktop has more than one hard drive, and for filespace
reasons, the mail directories are on a different drive than the TB
executable. The laptop has one hard drive, so the mail directories
  are in the default location.

Nonetheless, the directory structures are identical within the mail
  directories.

Yet, when I start TB on the laptop, it doesn't recognize that those
directories that weren't created manually through the TB interface
  are there.

Is there anything I can do to teach it?

It has been in the recent past, I had to have a system board replaced

Parked folder under it. Move all but the corrupt messages (no on
parked) to Repair, then move all parked to Parked :-). Delete the
messages.tbb and .tbi files, run a check integrity/repair on the
repair folder, then put the parked messages back (and mark em
parked) followed by moving all the other messages back.
RO Create a new folder
RO Move all messages from tbbeta to your new folder
RO Close TB
RO Delete the messages.tbb and .tbi files in your tbbeta directory
RO Start TB
RO Move all messages from your new folder to tbbeta
RO Try the maintenance action again.
Ok, I did that (even closing TB at every step, which I have never
needed to do before, but I figured, what the heck :-). I ran a the
maint on both the temp folder before moving back, and again on the
tbbeta foder after moving.
No luck! :-( well, we did make some progress... It purged 1 message).
TBBETA now has over 9k msgs, and is set to only keep 90 days and 8000.
Not including the parked messages, I have them back to Jan of 2004.

The Bat!'s lost its subfolders.

2002-11-15 Thread Jonathan Andrew Sheen
Hello,

This morning, I had a problem, and my Windows 2000 system had to be
hard-rebooted. The Bat! had been running previously, but was not
   running when this occurred.

As the computer restarted, I saw it mentioning that one of the
account.* files from The Bat!'s mail directory -- where it
stores messages -- was corrupted and would be truncated.

When I restarted The Bat! It no longer had the slightest notion
that there were mailboxes or subfolders other than Inbox Outbox
   Sent Mail and Trash.

The folders are all still there, but The Bat! can't see them.

   Suggestions?

The new account does the same thing.

It also doesn't seem to know how many messages it has queued, as the
