Hi Alexander,

ASK I'd suggest the two of you start a new list ranting at ritlabs forever,
ASK or something... it won't change a thing when you post your negative moaning
ASK to the list permanently. Everyone has taken the point that some are
ASK satisfied with v3, some are not, some have no problem with marketing
ASK decisions, others have. Its OK now, we all know it!

Come on, show some understanding. Customers are p*ssed off by the way
RITlabs uses to communicate with them at the moment.
And if you ask me, they have every right to feel this way.

Some words, an official announcement, anything that discribes the way
RITlabs wants to deal with future and The Bat! would temper this
aggression. But as you see, there's nothing.

Just eat or die.

Not the kind of behavior i expected from RITlabs
and not the kind of behavior a reliable company acts like.

D Actually, it is the Kaspersky AV which includes a plugin for TheBat!
D and not the other way around. The only plugin bundled with TheBat!
D so far has been the BayesIt one for spam filtering. You should have
D more success checking about an updated version by browsing
D Kaspersky's forums.

In addition:

Kaspersky v5.0 doesn't come with plug-ins for any mailers anymore.
It now supports email-scanning just like AVK2004, NAV or any other by
using a kind of local proxy.

Btw., is there a feature request open for an interpreter that turn
*this* into bold and _that_ into underlined and /those/ into italics
when using the RTV? I'd support that! (my old ZConnect point program
MicroDot on the Amiga did is - t'was most luvlee!)

AT I would love that too!
AT My (excellent) newsreader 40tudeDialog uses that 'interpreter'.
AT I far prefer it over the silly smiley's thing.

Yepp! Thumbs Up! for that idea. Just go back to god old fido.net style
:-)
I would REALLY appreciate this. Old but simple, clear and a lot of MUA
can handle this format.

Mahlzeit Arjan,

Friday, September 3, 2004, 1:02:01 AM:

As for what Ritlabs said they would do feature wise in TB! it
depends if it was a true contract or just features they are
 planning on adding/fixing.

AdG Well, in a purely technical sense Ritlabs did indeed keep its
AdG promise. A lot of bugs _were_ fixed (numerous others were
AdG introduced), IMAP _was_ implemented and v2 _does_ have a New
AdG Filtering System (albeit in a beta version which turned out to
AdG be in fact a v3 pre beta).

AdG So, anyone who wishes to use a v2 with IMAP and NFS can do so. At
AdG least beta/6 (buggy as it may be) should still be freely available
AdG at Ritlab's site.

Implementing features means to me that they are not just built in, no
matter if they work properly but they are built in and usable for the
customer in the expected way.
Means they're fully functional and as bugfree as possible.

Promising features for one version, selling that version with just
alpha-character features and releasing a new version that only differs
from the old with some bugfixes and the mentioned - now usable -
features, which means an additional charge even for customers who
already paid for this features...

Sorry, but this seems to me like deceptive business acts...

DWG Does The Bat 3 still have the connection center malfunction?

Don't have any problem with it. What's malfunctioning for you?

I don't know what Deniss's problem with the CC is, but for me, if I
abort/delete all tasks in the CC, I am unable to close TB as it says
tasks are still active. Clicking Abort on the can't close dialog does
no good and I'm forced to kill TB from Task Manager.

I can confirm that for v2.xx but not for v3. But that's the only
bugfix/improvement i discovered so far.

Mike
