pipe character

1999-11-08 Thread Michael Zigler DVM, CertVOphthal

Hello TBUDL,

When using the pipe character in signal strings should spaces be
used before and after? I am trying to set up a spam filter which
would move anything NOT addressed to me to the spam folder. However,
I routinely use two different e-mail addresses one of which
forwards to the other so I entered:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]|[EMAIL PROTECTED] as the search string on
the recipient with present="no", however this doesn't work mail
addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ends up in the spam folder, as does
  mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .

Do I need spaces before or after the pipe character? example:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]| [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  [EMAIL PROTECTED] | [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  Any other suggestions?

  Thanks

filter question

1999-10-25 Thread Michael Zigler DVM, CertVOphthal

Hello ,

I have set the bat to leave messages on the server, and then based
upon my filter rules, I will filter the messages into various folders.
For some folders I want the messages deleted from the server - so I
checked the box under Actions "delete message from server". Other
messages that were filtered onto other folders, I want the messages
left on the server so I left that box unchecked. This all works fine.

Now all of the remaining messages (which end up unfiltered in my
INBOX) I would like deleted from the server. I created a filter rule
called "clean up server" and placed this filter last on my list of
filters. The search criteria is *.* and the action is delete from
server. Is this the correct way to accomplish my task?
