I'm using Windows 2000 Professional Build 2195 (final) and The Bat!
1.39 and have none of the problems you decribe... I have several
accounts set up, and use 'Check mail for all accounts' frequently
without ever having it hang on me..

Get it alot from Hotmail.com and other web-based mail services iirc...

This is what I thought too, but it don't. Tried several times setting
the encoding to default this way, but next time I recieve a
non-standard mail, it's back to none (your mail came back to me with a
default of none btw, not KOI8-1 or Latin-1 or anything)

I suppose the 'untranslated' mail I get do have a non-standard
"charset:" field, but would it be possible to enforce a default
translation to all mails like that instead of 'None'???

Here's one that I got today..

Latin-1 (ISO 8859-1) does translate scandinavian characters perfectly,
so there's no need for a special 'Scandinavia' translation table..

Since 99% of the mails I recieve with scandinavian characters in it
like comes thru with a default translation of 'None', so I manually
have to set the translation for lots of mail..

Default Translation settings?

2000-01-06 Thread Oyvind Antonsen

Hi!

How do I set The Bat! to use Latin-1 (ISO-8859-1) Translation as
default for all incoming mail??? I cant find an option anywhere that
will actually set it default to ALL folders, only the current mail
seems to be set to Latin-1...

Scandinavian character problem

1999-11-13 Thread Oyvind Antonsen

Hello!

Since installing The Bat! v1.35 and 1.36, I've had problems with the
scandinavian characters 'øæå' when recieving mail from various
sources. First I thought it was only from web-mail accounts (hotmail,
yahoo etc.), but it seems that almost every mail I get from Norway
displays some other crappy characters instead.
What can I do?? It worked fine in 1.34, and I havent changed any
settings.

Best regards,
 Oyvindmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
