NOD32 Plugin
Dear Marck, What is the NOD32 plugin that Allie refers to in her message ? Is this another antivirus plugin like that for AVG ? Where can I download it from ? Your message may be ignored if you start a new message by replying to another message. Your message will be buried in a thread if the user is threading his/her messages. With regards to your question, you can download the plugin here: ftp://ftp.ritlabs.com/pub/the_bat/bav/Nod32.BAV It works well, I've come to realize. It's just that when it's doing its stuff the NOD32 window flickers for an instant into view. With the eicar test virus, I see that it nicely strips attachments and and will create a quarantine folder for infected messages. Nice. Better than using the system monitor for mail in my estimation since it will do more for you. How often does a spammer send infected mail. Is it a good idea to automate the sending of notification messages to the originator? Re: AVG Anti-Virus and TB!
Dear Marck, That AVG Virus Protection is a cool Plug-In. I added it too. Are there any other cool plugins that I have missed out on ? Kind Regards, Giles *** This is a reply message From: Marck D Pearlstone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Ben Kennish on TBUDL" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Monday, June 3, 2002, 10:11:22 AM Subject: AVG Anti-Virus and TB! ===8<==Original message text=== -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi Ben, @03 June 2002, 10:00:28 +0100 Ben Kennish wrote in [EMAIL PROTECTED]">mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Is there a way I can get TB to work with AVG Anti-Virus? > (www.grisoft.com) > Surely it should be possible to extract attached files to a temp > directory and then run my anti virus program on them (command line)? You don't need to! Download this: http://www.thebat.ipex.cz/stazeni/beta/avgbatb7.zip and unzip the contents into your TB executable folder (C:\Program Files\The Bat!). Then configure the plug-in through the menu "Options | Virus protection". It works like a dream!!! No need to externalise any attachments. - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D. Mailto: Links
Hi Everyone, Since I installed The Bat, everytime I click on a mailto link, my system tries to open the mailto link at a website (50+ times) in 50 seperate IE windows. Clicking on any mailto link on ANY website dies the same thing. Otherwise, everything is fine and I thing The BAT is great. I use it for mailing lists and find it very versatile and powerful on filtering and rules. Any ideas what is happenning and why ? Yes - your browser (IE) has become confused about the current default email client. Open up IE's Internet options and, the "programs" tab, un-select TB (if TB is selected) - Apply - re-select TB - Apply. That should fix it. - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D.
