Any way to get TB to only use email address (not names)?

2001-01-08 Thread Randy Breese

I just got a reply to a notice I sent out over the weekend:

> Although I do appreciate the bits of news that you send, I'm a bit concerned
> about all these addresses, with full names. There are a lot of folks there
> that are definitely not my friends, ...

I realise from prior discussions that TB won't generate individual
messages for each person on a list without including all those other
addresses, but is there any way to get The Bat to put only the email
address in the "to" field instead of "Name" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ?

have to go from here?" Alice asked.

"That depends a good deal on where you
want to get to," said the cat.

"I don't much care where," said Alice.

"Then it doesn't matter which way you
go," said the cat.

I have found that you have to manually edit the "strings" to be
[EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of "John Doe"<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> .

It is odd that TB creates a filter string that it cannot later use to
filter mail, don't you think?

Hello!

Although, I have been caught up in the Christmas chaos, and not online
much as you can tell by the length of time it took me to email you
back, you got it right. I look forward to seeing you again soon.

ISP limits number of recipients to 10...

2000-12-02 Thread Randy Breese

Hello, all...

I'm wondering if there is some feature in TB! that I can use to deal
with a problem I'm having.

Although probably 99% of my email goes out to 1 user, I occasionally
need to send it to a group of people. My problem is that my ISP will
not allow messages with more than 10 recipients.

Is there any way to set up TB! to know this and automatically break
such messages up into multiple mailings that fit that rule? Or, short
of that, can I somehow set up a mailing list to achieve the same task?
(I've never used the mailing list features and am completely
unfamiliar with them. Unfortunately, the Help file only describes
creating a discussion list in any detail...)

Thanks.
