Shortcuts Editor and Expanding Threads

2002-03-28 Thread Satori

I recently upgraded to 1.60c. I have not been able to find an entry to
modify the shortcut to expand all the threads in a folder (the
'Ctrl-keypad*' key stroke). Although the laptop I use has a...
virtual... keypad, it is awkward to activate in order to use this
shortcut. I also thought there was a menu entry for the message list
pop up to expand all threads, though I can find no such thing.

Does anyone have an idea if this shortcut can be modified? Is there an
easier way to expand all the threads in the message list?

I appreciate your help.

Re: Shortcuts Editor and Expanding Threads

2002-03-28 Thread Satori

On Thursday, March 28, 2002, The Florida Canvassing Commission
divined that Gene Gough truly meant to say:

Go to the shortcut editor and then click on warning. That should
expand all the menus for you to look for the expand threads.

I did as you suggested but I still could not find any entry to expand
threads. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Scott

It has been a while since I've used the Freeware version of PGP, and you
may well be correct that it isn't offered in that version. If you do
find a need for VPN in the future, you can always purchase the Personal
Privacy version of 7.0.3, which is due out any day now.

This was not the Freeware version of PGP. I ordered the upgrade from
Mcafee's site (a downloadable zip file). Now I wish I had waited.

You paid for a version of PGP that does *not* offer you PGPNet/VPN?
Which version exactly did you receive, such as the actual name i.e.,
Desktop Security or Personal Privacy, etc?

This is the filename: PGP_Personal_Privacy_6.5.8.zip

It was $14.99.

Did you receive a message I sent to you personally?

I did. Acutally I had joined the PGP-Basics group several days
before. Perhaps we should move this conversation there?

PGP 6.5.8 and The Bat! integration

2001-01-23 Thread Satori

I have been unable to get PGP to integrate with The Bat! Here is what
I have done.

* I have installed PGP 6.5.8 which works fine by itself (meaning I
can sign and verify signatures via the clipboard).

* I have version 1.49 of The Bat! which also works fine by itself.

* I have downloaded the PGP dll's for The Bat and have copied
batpgp65.dll into the "c:\Program Files\The Bat!" directory. (I have
also tried the "c:\winnt\system32" directory since I was not sure.)

* Both the "c:\winnt\system32" (location of the PGP dll's) and the
"c:\Program Files\Network Associates\PGPNT" (main PGP directory)
directories are in the PATH system variable.

* I have selected the "PGP 6.0.x/6.5.x Plug-in" option from The Bat's
PGP|Choose PGP version dialog.

Here is what I see: from the Edit Mail Message window, nothing happens
when I select the Privacy|PGP|Sign Entire Text or Sign Block options.

While I can sign and send a message using the clipboard and PGP, I
cannot sign a message via these menu options from The Bat. When the
Privacy|Sign when Completed option is selected, nothing happens when I
press send, nor can I send until I de-select that option.

None of the options like Tools|PGP|PGP Key Manager work either.

What am I missing?

Thanks for your help,
Scott Franson

If that fails, reinstall PGP, and make sure you do not install PGPNet.
This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone having that kind of
problem with PGP and TB. I'm sure the answer is something simple, and
we'll help you get to the bottom of it.

After trying your suggestions, Nick, it still didn't work. I was
playing with the support dll's for TB and discovered that the dll's
for PGP 6.0.x somewhat worked. I was able to sign messages but
couldn't launch PGPKeys from TB. This was the clue that I needed. My
installation is an upgrade of PGP 6.0.2 to PGP 6.5.8. I discovered
that there were several PGP 6.0.2 dll's left in the \winnt\system32
directory. Once they were deleted and PGP 6.5.8 reinstalled things
worked perfectly.

Oddly enough, there was not an option to install PGPNet. Is there
some reason why I would not want to use it? I understand it to be
some kind of VPN and although I have no use for it now perhaps in the
future I would like to try it. Apparently, that will be a problem
since I can't install it anyway.

I appreciate your suggestions and help. Perhaps my experience may
help another in the future.
