I checked my account logs after both incoming and outgoing mail - but I am seeing nothing there at all relating to the AV checking. I did check the Avast log itself however (AvBatEx) - and entries are appearing there with "infected files - 0", so the plugin does appear to be working. -- Best regards, Carrenmailto:kiwionab...@xnet.co.nz Current version is 4.2.9.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I see no reference to it in my account logs. Not a stupid question at all, and I'm glad you asked because there may still be a problem :-/ I first checked the plugin by running a manual AV scan (under Folder/Check for Viruses). This was successful: * Checking finished. Found 0 infected messages out of 9114 checked ones. I then checked my account logs after receiving incoming mail and the correct entries were present. However, I didn't check the account logs after outgoing messages had been sent. TB!'s previous behaviour was to add incoming and outgoing AV check entries to the account log when the AV plugin was configured and the 'Check Incoming mail for viruses' and 'Check outgoing mail for viruses' options were selected under Anti-Virus default settings under preferences. However, since the plugin broke and the latest 'fix' the outgoing check log entries no longer appear in the account logs, only in the incoming check entries: Outgoing: 24/07/2009, 10:00:50: SEND - sending mail message(s) - 1 message(s) in queue 24/07/2009, 10:00:52: SEND - connected to SMTP server 24/07/2009, 10:00:52: SEND - sending message to cont...@obfuscated.com 24/07/2009, 10:00:59: SEND - message to cont...@obfuscated.com sent (516 bytes) 24/07/2009, 10:00:59: SEND - connection finished - 1 message(s) sent Incoming: 24/07/2009, 10:01:05: FETCH - receiving mail messages 24/07/2009, 10:01:05: FETCH - connected to POP3 server 24/07/2009, 10:01:05: FETCH - authenticated (plain) 24/07/2009, 10:01:05: FETCH - 1 messages in the mailbox, 1 new 24/07/2009, 10:01:06: FETCH - Received message from Privateofcourse , size: 1757 bytes, subject: "AV Log Test" 24/07/2009, 10:01:06: ANTIVIRUS - Examining the incoming POP3 mail message for viruses 24/07/2009, 10:01:06: ANTIVIRUS - No virus found in the examined object 24/07/2009, 10:01:06: FETCH - Received message from privateofcou...@myserver.com to cont...@obfuscated.com, encrypted: No, size: 1757, date: Friday, July 24, 2009 10:00:50 AM, subject: "AV Log Test" 24/07/2009, 10:01:06: FETCH - 1 messages deleted on server 24/07/2009, 10:01:06: FETCH - connection finished - 1 messages received I can only assume this is a bug. There is also a problem with avast!'s plugin configuration being remembered. If you select 'Show icon in system tray and scanning', and 'Logging' under the plugin's configuration, they become 'unselected' the next time you start TB! So, looks like I was wrong. Incoming mail is being checked, and manually checking, but outgoing messages *may* not be..either that or it's just the log entries that are missing. And the plugin's settings don't persist, so that needs a fix. Can anyone else confirm this? -- Simon (Privateofcourse) # 2103. I Woo Shrewd Gen? ¶ Auxiliary Information: • The Bat!
