2002-03-13 Thread Carter Thomas

HI!

Allie:

Thanks for sharing that information. I'll be more mindful of that in
the future.

Allie I've found this feature to be very reliable in that
Allie it works all the time. If it doesn't work for me it's
Allie usually because of something I've done, like
Allie inserting an extra space leading to a match failure
Allie or something of the sort.

JR I've noticed some weird behavior if you have an entry w a
JR parenthesis on the line, Ex: Allie Martin (nice guy).

OK, I've just experienced one of the examples.

If I type in the first name or the first few letters of someone in my
address book and I type an extra, incorrect letter, I hit backspace to
erase it and wait. Nothing happens. I have to hit ctrl+ to get it doing
a match. However, if you hit backspace to to erase one or more
characters and then type at least one character the auto-completion will
work without having to hit ctrl+.

Re[3]: Autocompletion of header fields not always working

2002-03-13 Thread Joseph N.

1. In the address book, fill in the Nickname (Handle) field.
2. Be sure the address book containing the nicknames you want to use
is set as the address book for TB! to search.
3. Type the nickname in the To: field of a message composition
window, tab to the next field, and TB! should fill in the field.

basically what your saying below and it works fine. I think that what
you describe is the proper operation as it works that way in all of
the mailers I have used over the last few years. BUT in TB it insists
on looking at the actual name rather than the nick name / Handle.

I have looked and looked but can not find a way to make TB search on
the HANDLE. Is there a way?

Re[4]: Autocompletion of header fields not always working

2002-03-13 Thread Gene Gough

That is what I have but if I have any auto fill in at all on, it
searches the name field rather than the handle. Example. If I have me
as a handle and also there is a name of Mel Jewett in the name field
with a different handle, the search will fill in with Mel Jewett and
the associated e-mail address.
What I should have said was we need the ability to fill in based on
handle search. Thanks.

You are right. It will not search the handles and include it in the
auto-completion. Perhaps you could propose it as a feature wish.
