Hello John,

In short: No.

You'll have to look if there's a 'Delivered To:' line in headers of
received mail. Or something similar. If so you'll be able to filter
for that line and forward/redirect if this condition is meat.

There's no way known yet with TB! to set only the 'RCPT TO:' address
keeping the headers intact but being ignored when re-sending the mail.
You can set the original TO list (%OTOLIST) and original CC list
(%CCLIST) as %Comment if you want to keep this informations when
redirecting, but you can't send the mail a second time with the same
TO (and maybe even CC) without getting the same recipients the message
a second time. So simply adding your wife's new address to BCC and
re-sending the message will someone make getting the message twice.

The reason why you can't search for 'BCC' header fields is simple: the
mail server throws them away if the mail is delivered, otherwise it
wont be '_Blind_ Carbon-Copy'.

So all in all the best solution would be you domain hosting
cooperation allows you to define at least two e-mail accounts with
different forwardings, or you'll loose some header information when
redirecting the mail after receiving.
Alternatively you can 'MIME-Forward' the messages, which will result
in no header loss, but forces your wife to 'double open' any e-mail,
first the one you sent (the forward) and this one is containing an
attachment with the original mail, your wife will have to open.

BCC as if originally BCC'd

2002-04-15 Thread John Thomas

Is it possible to create a filter that will BCC a message to somebody
as if the sender had originally BCC'd the message to them?

I need this because I have all e-mail at my domain forwarded to a free
pop server account. I would like TheBat to forward my wife's e-mail to
another pop server account, which she can then retrieve through an
unmentionable e-mail client.

I tried "redirect", but it puts a new address in the to line. I tried
"create a message", but became too terribly complicated for me.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
