Well, the latest SSL desaster maybe set that into a different light. The planned mitigations for the scenario simply didn't work as all browser developers decided to allow the user to decide which option is best and then go with the weakest one as a default. While Roelof already gave you a work-around, it is indeed a major weakness of TheBat! that you cannot override the warning and say "retrieve anyway". The reason is that some powerfull influences here and on the Beta list want to nanny you and protect you from making a mistake. I feel ashamed for that. -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 4.2.36.4 under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hallo Reece, On Tue, 22 Mar 2011 14:09:03 +0800GMT (22-3-2011, 7:09 , where I live), you wrote: A> Due to a temporary server name change I get the following error A> message: A> FETCH - TLS handshake failure. In your account settings, change the server name back to something that matches the certificate. In your windows/system32/drivers/etc/ folder you'll find a file hosts or hosts.sam In that file you add the line: ip-address hostname With hostname the same as you've entered in the account settings and ip-address the ip-address of your server. And in case you've only got a hosts.sam file, you need to rename that to hosts (without any extension) Note the file is plain text. And reset your pc. If this doesn't I haven't got any ideas. -- Groetjes, Roelof Moderators don't have to sign messages, you just KNOW. http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 5.0.0.151 RC1 Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6002 Service Pack 2 5 pop3 accounts, 3 imap account OTFE disabled Quad Core 2.4GHz 4 GB RAM pgppIzLh3VRom.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
