Oddity when replying.

2002-01-16 Thread Geordon VanTassle

Hello list,

I'm trying to replay to a long e-mail and cut parts out, but when I
hilight and hit DEL or BACKSPACE, it only deletes a couple of
characters, rather than the whole selection. I can CTRL-X it gone,
  though.

Any ideas on what I can check to figure out why this is happening?

  Thanks

I wouldn't mind any thoughts on this - I noted it this afternoon when
I was trying to delete a quoted section (each line prefaced with ).
Del only deleted the first quote (a couple of characters) no matter
the size of the paragraph selected, but Ctrl-X or pressing Backspace
repeatedly (yuck) did ...

(Strangely, I've used TB! for about a year and never noticed this
before; the behaviour is also present in 1.54 betas :)

Discovered. I'd been doing some testing and forgotten to put back the
editor settings ...

If you go to Options | Editor Preferences and make sure the
'Persistent Blocks' option is unchecked and the 'Overwrite Blocks'
option is checked Del will do what you expected it to do.

Where can I find out what all of those options are supposed to do?

You have selected Persistent blocks in Options-Editor preferences.
