Possible to set a folder to always send message to same address?

2000-06-15 Thread Mike Harlos

Hi ,

I'm on a mailing list for which the "Reply To" address for
participants is sometimes the list address (as it should be),
while other times it is the personal email of the participant.

This sometimes results in me sending list responses to the
individual rather than the list, unless I am careful to check
  before I send.

Is there a way to set the properties for the list folder so that
the messages (replies and new) always go to the list address?

  Thanks

  Mike

Create folder-level templates, and in the Reply template override the
TO: with the list address.

I'm afraid I can't see how to do that. In the Properties section of
the folder, there is the Reply template as you mentioned. However,
it seems to just deal with the body of the message, not the headers.

I was able to change the "Reply To" header for my own messages by
going to the Identity tab; I was hoping that there would be a "To: "
section on the Identities tab that I could put the List address in.

Here's mine (well it's a "new" template, but the idea is similar):

***
%Cursor

-tom!

%TO=""%TO="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
***

That last line is the key. The first %TO="" clears it out, and the
second one appends the text to the current value. Hope that makes
sense...

-tom!

Insert this into your Reply template:
%TO="" %TO="Listname [EMAIL PROTECTED]"
the first will clear the TO: field, the second will add the new
recipient.

And if your time permits check "Template Macros" in TB's help. :-)
