Been there, done that. I only have one account in TB anyway.

You might want to check your account preferences in TB!, there is a
switch that says "Use as default mailto: account" Try disabling that
on all of your accounts, then in Internet Explorer change the default
mail client to OE. Then try again.

My problem is the other way around. I WANT OE to be my default mail
handler and reserve The Bat! for a special purpose since The Bat!
doesn't work with Lotus Organizer in MAPI mode. I tried doing as you
did the other direction but mailto: still has problems.

I fixed the problem on my system (many moons ago) by going into the
Internet Options and changing the default mail handler to OE. I then
closed the options, reopened it and changed the default handler back
to The Bat!.

I have exactly the same problem, or had. I don't remember if I've solved it, as
I don't often click on mailto: links ;) I'll check in the morning.

Problems with mailto: links

2002-05-16 Thread Blarp

I have been trying out The Bat! and it seems to have problems playing
with Outlook Express. For now, I want OE to be my default mail handler
but The Bat! seems to disable this even though I have it set not to
check and it is NOT installed as the Simple MAPI handler NOR is it
associated with Mailto:'s in the accounts.

HOWEVER, if I click on a mailto: link ANYWHERE on my system, it opens
about 40 copies of Internet Explorer with the mailto: URL in the URL
address line. How do I fix this? It seems to happen when OE becomes
unregistered as the Default mail handler and the only thing that would
unregister OE is The Bat!

The Bat! v1.60h
OE v6.00
Internet Explorer v6.00
Windows 2000 Pro SP2
