Hi Eberhard,

Tuesday, May 23, 2000, 1:11:35 AM, you wrote:

 Hello Ming-Li,

thanks a lot for the help. However, I have TB installed, it is my
default mailer and the filetypes are assigned to TB! as well. :-(

 It still happens.

Sorry, I myself just duplicated the same problem as well.
And I've even duplicated it in a "clean environment" (sort
of, I have a backup partition where only English Windows 98
is installed, nothing else). I've sent a bug report to RIT,
and I included your original message to let them know there
are at least two people who had the same problem. We'll
see.

A temporary solution is to use Quoted-Printable for
attachment encoding for this kind of file. I works for me.

Re: Another Attachment Problem

2000-05-22 Thread Ming-Li

Hi Eberhard,

Sure. It is a window, calls itself "View Folder Outbox of
Eba", has nothing inside but the single mail I want to
send right now, yet without subject, addressee, sender
etc. Just the size and time stamp.

This may be normal but I cannot make any sense out of it -
and double clicking the attached msg should open the msg,
 shouldn't it?

I've just duplicated the same problem on my system (, and I
think I've found the cause.

Do you have Outlook Express or other email clients
installed? Especially after you have installed The Bat!
Anyway, some other program has registered itself as the
default handler of .msg (and perhaps .eml as well) file.

Open [My Computer] (or Windows Explorer, not IE), go to
[View] [Folder Options] [File Type], and find the type to
which .msg belongs (on my system, it's "Internet E-mail
Message", but it depends on the software that registered
it). Double click on it and edit its [open] command, and you
should see a different program other than TB (If it's TB,
then your problem has some other cause). Change it back to
TB, and the problem should be gone. At least that fixes it
on my system.

Re: Another Attachment Problem

2000-05-20 Thread Jason Thompson

Hello Eberhard and Bat Buddies...

Save a message (say, as "msg.msg").
   Compose new mail.
Attach the saved "msg.msg", preferrably as MIME encoded.
   Queue the composed mail.
Open it and double click the "msg.msg" attachment.

If it does display correctly I'm dong somehing wrong - can anyone
   help?

Can not confirmAll is good and peaceful on this Bat's perch.

If you elaborate more on how it does not "display correctly" perhaps one of us
can be of more assistance
