Re: Digest (03/02/2001 15:03) (#2001-879)
Hello TBUDL, Thanks for all the help with getting gmx sorted out. Finally I am able to send email, but it seems very patchy, sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't, but I will perservere a little longer :) Next question though I hope should be easier and a little more on topic. When I get those fancy email newsletters sent to me, they arrive in html format mainly, and the bat! doesn't show any of the images, only a yellow exclamation mark. Is there any way to make it do show the pictures instead? Thanks again. -- Best regards, Russmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- __ Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Is there any way to make it do show the pictures instead? Those are links to the actual pictures. Since TB! is not a browser it cannot show them. But HTML can be viewed in you browser who should be able to get those pics. You could, for instance, use GMX's web interface which will show the images. - -- Dierk Haasis PGP keys available: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=SendMyPGPkeys The Bat 1.51 Windows 95 4.0 1212 C The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi Dave, On 02 March 2001 at 16:26:55 + (which was 16:26 where I live) Dave Wilson wrote and made these points: DH Those are links to the actual pictures. I get tabs in my bottom left corner of DW my screen. The leftmost is a non formatted version of the message, and DW the next tab to it's right is the message in HTML form, with gif's DW etcetera included, including clickable links. Works for me anyway. ;) Or DW am I missing the point? The GIFs only show when they are transmitted with the document. If they are merely URLs for the images then TB will only show a place marker since it has no browser capabilities with which to do the GET required to display such images (thank heavens!!!). If it ever did have the capability, I would turn it off! - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D. Theoretically the same could be applied to images. The point is: Images that are not embedded in the document are not downloaded by TB!, and cannot be shown.
