What happens if you shut down the TB-service? I am not really sure about XP, but on W2k it's Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. Guess you have to have administrative rights to do it, though. -- Urban Current version is 1.62 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Miles, On Fri, 28 Feb 2003 09:48:55 -0500 GMT (28/02/03, 21:48 +0700 GMT), Miles Johnson wrote: When I shut down TB it *appears* to properly close but when I click on the icon to re-open it nothing happens. I discovered that TB installed itself under XP Pro as *both* an application and a service! The result is that I can't restart it unless I go in Windows Task Manager and kill it there first. I've downloaded and re-installed the latest version, did warm and cold boots, to no avail. This has been reported by selected XP users now (not all XP users encounter this), but I don't know whether it has made it into the bug tracker yet. I suggest you report it. -- Cheers, Thomas. MJ I'm still curious to know if other users have found some kind of MJ workaround, or if perhaps the TB people are working on a fix. What other applications do you have running on your system? Have you tried shutting down all other apps, including anti-virus agents, firewall software, windowblinds or any other shell enhancing software, and then trying to exit TB!? I suspect that there's an adverse software interaction amiss. - -- -=] allie_M [=- {List Moderator} - -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Comment: My Public Keys - http://www.ac-martin.com/pgpkeys.html iD8DBQE+YA6TV8nrYCsHF+IRAuK8AKC0b0u/cliNWZqH7RbPiSvJmrkR6QCfc8qZ 98g9yVyPsjyifcg+MUwljS0= =X1hr -END PGP SIGNATURE- Current version is 1.62 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
