I'd say: yes :-)

I'm subscribed since middle of April last year and there are currently
10375 Mails in my mail base.
I have say additionally I had switched to Digest mode some weeks ago
for 2 or 3 weeks for being in holidays, no normally it would have to
be some more messages I've not received single, but collected in one
during this period. :-)

Well, I joined the list on 5th June 2001. I never delete any messages,
and in TBUDL folder there are 8766 messages currently...

that is a lot, and methods for filtering are haphazard, at best.
Meanwhile, my enforced evaluation after upgrading, adding drive, linking
to old exe,
has now expired, after a stream of requests to every place i could,
repeatedly, including on this list, have been to no avail.
I unsubed once 2 weeks ago, still keep getting floods...
Too much trouble i say, i go to open source!

If you need to reduce your message base for whatever reason:
click on folder properties, activate Keep messages in the base (for
days), enter a number of days you like and activate both
possibilities in the small box at the bottom of that window called On
Exit. TB will remove messages which are older than the number of days
you entered. If you want to keep a message for a longer period you
have to park them.

I'm learning a lot - still don't understand how to do PGP -

Hmmm, have a look at www.pro-privacy.de click on PGP and TheBat! -
Step by Step May be this helps a bit?
