Hi Allie,

On 06 October 2003 at 01:11:59GMT +0100, Allie Martin sent an E-Mail mid:[EMAIL
PROTECTED] on the subject of Auto responde to mail with an attachment with a large
size:

SF I set TB up to leave messages larger than 2MB on the server,
SF and also have the option set to Delete downloaded messages.

SF My test message was purged from the server even though I only
SF received the automated test notification that a large message was
SF waiting for me to deal with.

AM Now open the sorting offices filters and create an incoming filter that
AM will catch the large message notification. I've not seen one of those
AM notifications in a while but I think the message is from 'The Bat!' so
AM you can have it filter on 'Sender' being 'The Bat!'. Put this filter at
AM the very top of the filter list.

AM The next filter will be one that matches all messages. You can therefore
AM define the string 'e' with Kludges being the source. For the filter
AM action, enable 'delete message from server'. Very importantly, also
AM enable the option to 'continue processing with other filters'.

Just wanted to say that this worked fine - thanks!

Hi Edgar,

On 05 October 2003 at 20:20:05GMT +0100, Edgar sent an E-Mail mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] on
the subject of Auto responde to mail with an attachment with a large size:

Edgar I'm missing this in TB!
Edgar When I choose to delete all messages and not downloading mail 1MB
Edgar I just get a message and the mail is gone.
Edgar When I choose to leave all mail on the server I have to delete them
Edgar manually. But what is more I can not send a mail to the sender of the
Edgar mail that's bigger then 1MB

Edgar I could use the Dispatcher but also then there is no automatic mail to
Edgar the sender of the mail.

I have also had this issue, today in fact.

I decided I require a way to leave message above a certain size on my ISP's server so
that I can retrieve them via a Web interface.

I set TB up to leave messages larger than 2MB on the server, and also have the option
set to Delete downloaded messages.

My test message was purged from the server even though I only received the automated
test notification that a large message was waiting for me to deal with.

I need this facility as my Antivirus [NOD32] seems to currently have issue with large
attachments in E-Mail [say over 5MB], it hangs, consuming 95%+ CPU in an infinite
loop. The only way to exit this is to shut it down and loose the E-Mail. Maybe this
is an issue for Eset as makers of NOD32, however, it would be nice to have TB leave
those messages for later retrieval.

Hi DG,

On 05 October 2003 at 23:04:25GMT +0100, DG Raftery Sr. sent an E-Mail mid:[EMAIL
PROTECTED] on the subject of Auto responde to mail with an attachment with a large
size:

DRS Allie Martin and myself discussed this issue this morning in regards
DRS to NOD32, functioning at the Winsock level, to scan incoming mail for
DRS virus and his results are the same. CPU and VM usage climb and climb
DRS the longer The_Bat! runs. Try turning off NOD32's e-mail scan function
DRS and just utilize the program's active scan function. As an active scan
DRS function is operational at open and close of files it should afford
DRS you the same protection against infection.

Thanks. I may try that.

It seems to be only large messages [certainly greater than 3MB], in 99% of
circumstances these come from my work account so I can 'avoid' them... it is
unfortunate though!
