R not a virus maybe, but not without risks either ...

Is RTF in Outlook Express not the same as HTML? RTF as we knew
it before is that not just an old, but useful, document format? That's
also a cheap trick from Micro to confuse people. While people send
me a mail from OE with Rich text enabled it appears as HTML in the
Bat!

M If one is not using a mailer like The Bat! - which won't execute active
M scripting embedded in HTML - has HTML display enabled,

A Html viewer does not mandate the execute of scripts AS we already
know from out viewer.

I have never hear of a RTF virus.

If the default behavior was as is and the user would have to manually
change .. let them.
