Your suggestion won't work because there will be an overlap period of
a month or two where both addresses will be live. And, for various
e-mail lists, including this one, I may decide to continue the
"achdut" user name in a gmail account.

Ah, you omitted that little detail.

Not too sure how your account is set up anyway, I replied to your message
and it ended up being addressed to myself at tbudl?
