As far as I know MOST programs donot check keys, they check ascii
codes.
So if you have the ASCII code for that shortcode under English, and
know how to produce same code on your keyboard, result will be the
same..Normally...
Anyway, look at normal typing, some keyboards require you to put
fingers in a knot just to type an "@"

 Instead of wondering and discussing ;-P I tried out the keys and, tada!

 The combination on a German keyboard is Shift+Ctrl+Alt+#
 The key-combos for other keyboards should be similar.

look at it this way: everyone using a non-american keyboard is
considerd to be 'not an idiot' :-) (probably cause we figured out to
type on a non-american keyboard :-) )

or the other way... everyone with an american keyboard...
