Spamming and Ritlabs...

2004-12-21 Thread WilWilWil
Ritlabs spams all his customers ! With special offer for Winrar ! :-) ;-) :-)
;-) :-) ;-) :-) ;-)

I'm joking but I would say I've never authorized Ritlabs to mail me except for
things concerning Me, TB (or maybe other Ritlabs products like PrivateDisk) and
them...

And bayes-it didn't kill this mail ! :-) ;-)

Ritlabs pride them selves to propose a spams killer emailer, don't they ? ;-)

This is the end of the world.

What in Gods name was that all about ??? Basic customer care at the very lowest
level should at least know what language their customers are.

I don't consider it spam as any address with rit in it is in all my whitelists.

I do however feel insulted at the assumption I'm German. I may be of German
decent but the only German word I know is "Bitter" and that is always preceded
with the words "A pint of" followed by the word "Please" :)

It got caught in my spam filter. The GMX server-side filter, that is. :-)

Anyway, I wonder whether we will now get announcements about new
versions again. I subsribed to the newsletter many years ago, and some
new TB versions were actually announced a couple of days after their
release.

Right.

No, they don't. I didn't get that. Nor do I get any other messages
from them with offers or messages about new versions.
So I guess it's something you can turn off.

Its a normal mailinglist message (announce list at Ritlabs, when you
register you're asked if you want to subscribe, IIRC).

The message contains the headers with unsubscribe information (press F9 to
view the source, or look into menu "Specials" | "Mailinglist").

I dunno, I think the list may have come from Ritlabs but I guess that rarlabs
could have cross referenced it.
