TB! v1.49 - exporting in UNIX format

2001-02-19 Thread Jan Rifkinson

Hello TBUDListers.

I decided to clear out/clean up some of my folders but I wanted to
keep an archive file of msgs within individual folders. So I
elected to Tools - Export the folder contents to a zip disk in
   UNIX format vs MSG format.

However when I go thru the process, TB! offers a huge # of file
formats but doesn't indicate what extension I should select for
UNIX format so on save, the file name appears w/o an extension I
have to manually assign it to TB!.

I'm sure I'm not understanding something in this process I'd
appreciate someone pointing what it is.

"Unix format" is a plain text format and doesn't associate with TB
directly. You could call it .txt and be able to view and search it
in a text editor perhaps. You have a free choice on it.

Well, that's because unix is not like Win at all. There is nothing like
'assign extention to application'. Unix mailbox is usually named as
user name or just 'mailbox'. So You see, that extention is useless. You
can use anything You want.
