Right click message header in list view. Select thread and delete from
pop-up submenu. This also shows the short cut key: shift+ctrl+delete.

Expand all threads: ctrl-* (Use the number pad)
Goto next unread message: ctrl-] (automatically expands thread too)

Have you tried the +<]> shortcut? It takes you from one unread
message to the next, expanding threads as necessary as you go along.
It doesn't matter where in the list you start either because if you
reach the end of the message list and there's an unread message
further up, the CTRL+] shortcut will again start from the beginning of
the message list.

2001-01-08 Thread Elden Fenison

TBUDL,

I've noticed that reading this group by threads is kind of a
pain. I find myself have to expand several/many branches of a
thread to get to one new message at the end of the tree. It
would be nice if there was a way to expand all threads, or
collapse all threads. Perhaps this feature exists and I've
  missed it?

My newsreader is Gravity. It not only has this option but you
can also set the default to start with threads expanded or
collapsed. It's kinda nice having that.
