I had occasion to transfer my 7 backup email accounts from Outlook Express 5.5 - I would not dream of using OE for my principal account :) OE does this transfer rather neatly via an .iaf file per account which it can export and import. I had intended to move the accounts to The Bat! but found there was no import facility for the .iaf file; thus I put the backup accounts onto OE as I couldn't face typing in all the details again. Now the .iaf file is not frightening; it is binary but the individual fields, apart from password, look eminently extractable with no encryption or other tricks. It would be useful if an 'import Outlook Express account details' option could be added to The Bat!. It can already import whole accounts* (Tools | Import Messages | Mailbox Import Wizard) but that's a sledgehammer to crack a nut; for backup or infrequently-used accounts the server details are enough ... Alastair * minuscule typo - the radio button should read 'Microsoft Outlook Express 5.xx' as we're well past 5.0 now. -- ______________________________________________________ Archives : <http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com> Moderators : <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> TBTech List: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
