a way to delete 'saved as draft' messages?

2001-07-09 Thread Charlie Laidlaw

It is protected from a simple delete, and if i try to drag it to the
trash, it says 'do you want to MOVE parked messages', and i don't want
to make that global change.

i know i can open it, 'put the letter in the Outbox', and then
delete it.

Is there a way to just kill it directly?

This is not a global change and applies only the the message(s) you
have marked. In fact, this is exactly how I delete drafts from the
Outbox: drag them to Trash and answer the query with Yes.

Ctrl+D deletes the 'Parking Flag', than you can delete it normally.

You can untick it's draft state and then press the delete button.

CL trash, it says 'do you want to MOVE parked messages', and i don't want
CL to make that global change.

It's not a global question - just answer yes and it will let you
move just *that* message and ask you again next time you try.

CL i know i can open it, 'put the letter in the Outbox', and then
CL delete it.

CL Is there a way to just kill it directly?

Another way is to click on the hourglass icon to remove it then press
delete. There is the snag here if you use combined send/receive and
periodical checking. A periodical check may occur between removing the
draft flag and hitting delete. You have to be pretty unlucky for
that to happen though.
