replies filtered to specific folders
I know there was some discussion about filtering sent mail to folders based on the same rule that filtered incoming mail to that folder. But I was wondering if there was a way to cause a sent item to filter to the folder that the item was replied. (maybe this has been asked) Can that be done? Can I cause an outgoing reply to sort to the folder the original message was in? -- Ken Green Using The Bat! v1.62r on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 4 Current version is 2.00.6 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Yes you can filter on outgoing messages as well as incoming ones... just make sure that the Use for... drop down menu in the filter creation box shows Outgoing Mail rather than the default view of Incoming Mail. I use this all the time for certain outgoing mails. -- Cheers, Anne Flying high with The Bat! v2.00.6 on Windows 98 4.10 Build Visit The Bat! What I was wondering was how (if possible) to create an outgoing filter that would filter based on the folder the original message was in. -- Ken Green Using The Bat! v1.62r on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 4 Current version is 2.00.6 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

If you use %FOLDERNAME in your template (it will get the name of the folder that you were in when you created the answer) you can place that folder name somewhere in your mail (or mail header) and filter on that. -- Cheers, Edgar Communicating with TB! v2.00.6, Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative. --Oscar Wilde Current version is 2.00.6 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
