I don't know about the first part, but this is a QT I use for
inserting attachment names:

%ATTACHMENTS

Remember that this macro has only the desired effect when you attach
the files before you edit the message.

This limitation can be avoided by inserting the macro in a quick
template and when you're done editing and attaching to call the quick
template by typing it's name followed by
