We quickly discussed this in today's TB meeting and agreed to set the default expiry to one year, with self-renewal. I removed members where it's clear that they don't need membership any more, set the ones who probably don't need it any more to expiry in a month, and everyone else to expire on 2014-06-01 (to avoid expiring in the middle of an UDS). Please keep Ara on this list, her team frequently runs sessions of their own at UDS and she should have the same access to the vUDS hangout machinery that others do. Stephen Doel was on this list for Linaro and should be dropped. I don't recognize the name Steve Edwards, and don't know if Kiko currently needs access (he was probably on the list due to Linaro). Tech Board nominations and elections due in a month
Hello Mark, the current Tech Board period ends in about a month [1]. Of the current members, Colin Watson and Matt Zimmerman stated that they want to step down. The others haven't explicitly said that they want to continue. As far as I remember, the last time you asked around for and nominated some candiates, asked for their agreement, and then we held an election. Is that still the procedure which you want to follow? Thank you! At least Chistrian and Ara should be easy to get in touch with, so asking them is probably best. For the others, setting a two weeks self-renewable expiry is usually a good way of checking whether they're still active and care about membership. > > Perhaps we should generally change membership to time out after one > year, with self-renewal? Going through https://launchpad.net/~uds-organizers/+members I think the following people should be dropped because they left Ubuntu and Canonical or work for Linaro (which has had its own summit for a long time): Amit Kucheria Dave Walker Jesse Barker Marianna Raffaele Martin Mrazik Paul McKenney Zach Pfeffer Will Cooke I'm not sure about the following people: Ara Pulido Christian Reis Jeremy Kerr Stephen Doel Steve Edwards Perhaps we should generally change membership to time out after one year, with self-renewal? That would provide automatic cleanup.
