If you're already downloading the torrent, you should be able to continue. I
only want to be able to edit the torrent descriptions (to put back the lost
tagging info), which wouldn't affect the torrent file itself.

I'm still downloading/seeding F13 -> F14 Alpha TC1 for i386.

Hi:

Thanks for volunteering to help - embarrassingly, the website isn't
working! The draft has been uploaded to the server, but it isn't
accessible from the website, even when you type the URL where it should be.

I hope this clears up soon!

The torrents from yesterday reappeared, although they lost some tagging

The Pirate Bay is back up at the moment, but the two F13 -> F14 Alpha TC1
torrents I posted yesterday have been deleted, and I still can't post new
torrents. If the site starts allowing new torrent posts, I'll repost those too
if they're still missing. In the meantime, use the direct downloads.

2010-08-03 Thread Andre Robatino
Deltaisos for TC1->TC2 and zsync control files for TC2 are now available at

I would post the torrents, but the Pirate Bay hasn't allowed posting or
editing torrents since yesterday (in fact the whole site is down right

 I will be more than happy to plan/host the test day.

 Preferred times are 2010-09-23 or 2010-09-30 or any other available day
 before between the alpha release and then.

 There are only a couple of new features to be tested, but we need coverage
 across the board for virtualization as there has been a good bit of
 change.

Yeah, you're right. Probably a good idea to get that on the rel-eng
radar. We may want to get some time behind the wheel with TC#2 and the
updates.img to make sure there are no other test blockers lurking.

Typically, the main concern with using an updates.img to test is that
because it enables networking to download the image, it potentially
alters the expected results for tests in the matrix [1]. There are some
ways you can load the updates.img from local storage (virtual floppy or
local disk), that can be a bit awkward unless you're used to it. Sorry,
long story short ... I don't know if I'd be comfortable going into the
RC using an updates.img to complete the install test matrix.

Thanks,
James

Following the procedure we vaguely approved in a meeting a while back
(IIRC), I've designated the 2010-08-03 nightly live images (which aren't
all up yet, but will be soonish) as the 'official' TC2 live builds, so
please use those for TC2 testing purposes.

However, note that they don't use systemd. The 2010-08-04 builds will
use systemd. It looks like we'll need a TC3 to fix the anaconda fail
that's shown up in TC2 anyway, so I expect I'll designate the 2010-08-04
nightlies as the TC3 images and we'll test those. But do feel free to
test the 2010-08-03 nightlies and add any relevant results to the
Install and Desktop matrices. Thanks!

Being able to install with encryption is indeed an Alpha criterion:

"The installer must be able to complete an installation using the entire
disk, existing free space, or existing Linux partitions methods, with or
without encryption enabled "

So if this is broken it does block Alpha. But see Bruno's reply.

[Test-Announce] Fedora 14 Alpha TC2 Is Uploading Now!

2010-08-03 Thread Adam Williamson
Greetings Testers,

F-14 Alpha TC2 is being posted for testing:

* http://serverbeach1.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/14.TC2/

It's still synchronizing right now, but should be fully available very
soon. This one actually works! Or so I'm told.

Please read the instructions and help executing the test cases at:

Installation:
* https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Installation_Test

Desktop:
* https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Desktop_Test

Remember, new for Fedora 14, we need to have the desktop validation
tests for KDE, Xfce and LXDE completed, as well as the desktop spin. If
you would like to use a live image for testing, please use the nightly
live images dated 2010-08-03 available here:

* http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/

The 2010-08-03 desktop spin is already available, and KDE, Xfce and LXDE
will be available shortly.

Feel free to discuss any issue/problem/bug encountered on IRC/Test List
and file it in bugzilla if it's a bug.

Happy testing!

Any chance that AC2 could also have a live image (much smaller)
in addition to the DVD iso?

tzdata updates need quick karma!

2010-08-03 Thread Tom "spot" Callaway
Hi packagers (and proventesters)

I've made an update to tzdata to 2010k, this handles the fact that Egypt
will move out of DST during Ramadan this year (August 10, 2010 -
September 9, 2010).

https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/tzdata-2010k-1.fc12
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/tzdata-2010k-1.fc13
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/tzdata-2010k-1.fc14

I really need some quick bodhi karma on these updates, so that Egyptian
Fedora users have a chance to have correct timezone data before August
10, 2010.

Here's how you can help:

You can confirm that the fix is in place, by installing the 2010k
package, then running:

BEFORE FIX:

Egypt  Thu Apr 29 21:59:59 2010 UTC = Thu Apr 29 23:59:59 2010 EET
isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
Egypt  Thu Apr 29 22:00:00 2010 UTC = Fri Apr 30 01:00:00 2010 EEST
isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
Egypt  Thu Sep 30 20:59:59 2010 UTC = Thu Sep 30 23:59:59 2010 EEST
isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
Egypt  Thu Sep 30 21:00:00 2010 UTC = Thu Sep 30 23:00:00 2010 EET
isdst=0 gmtoff=7200

AFTER FIX:

Egypt  Thu Apr 29 21:59:59 2010 UTC = Thu Apr 29 23:59:59 2010 EET
isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
Egypt  Thu Apr 29 22:00:00 2010 UTC = Fri Apr 30 01:00:00 2010 EEST
isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
Egypt  Tue Aug 10 20:59:59 2010 UTC = Tue Aug 10 23:59:59 2010 EEST
isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
Egypt  Tue Aug 10 21:00:00 2010 UTC = Tue Aug 10 23:00:00 2010 EET
isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
Egypt  Wed Sep  8 21:59:59 2010 UTC = Wed Sep  8 23:59:59 2010 EET
isdst=0 gmtoff=7200
Egypt  Wed Sep  8 22:00:00 2010 UTC = Thu Sep  9 01:00:00 2010 EEST
isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
Egypt  Thu Sep 30 20:59:59 2010 UTC = Thu Sep 30 23:59:59 2010 EEST
isdst=1 gmtoff=10800
Egypt  Thu Sep 30 21:00:00 2010 UTC = Thu Sep 30 23:00:00 2010 EET
isdst=0 gmtoff=7200

Then, go to the bodhi update and leave Positive Karma ("Works for me").

Thanks in advance,

~spot

We are anticipating a 'test compose#2' containing anaconda-14.14-1 any
minute now. We then use that compose to provide bodhi karma for the
updated anaconda package.

You can track progress in ticket
https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/3856.

Musicians' Guide Draft Now Posted

2010-08-03 Thread Christopher Antila
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hello:

I am pleased to let you know that the first official draft of the
Musicians' Guide is now available under the "Draft Documentation"
category on the Fedora Documentation website, http://docs.fedoraproject.org

The current focus is on establishing a consistent style and making the
document sound professional. There are still many incomplete portions,
especially missing links and images, and I will be working to fix these
as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted at least daily until
August 9th, and frequently after that point.

More than ever, testing is crucial to help ensure that a high-quality
document is released with Fedora 14. We are very appreciative of any
assistance you can give us, and we will work hard to incorporate all
feedback that we receive. Please send comments to this email address,
or file a bug report on the Red Hat Bugzilla.

Thank you,
Christopher.
