The library links against gtk2. gnome-desktop3 is a version of gnome-desktop that is linked against gtk3, for use in gnome3 and other gtk3-based desktops. The package alone does not help you to a different desktop. You can however, install gnome-shell and get a glimpse of gnome3 in that way. [F14 Branched] gnome-shell freeze
Hi, trying to switch (via desktop effects) to gnome-shell results in loading the shell and then the screen freezes, only cursor and ctrl-alt-fn works. After while (what was the timeout, 30s?) it returns back to metacity and works again... I'm able to use gnome-shell on F12. I wonder where the issue might lie and where to fill the bug... Anyone else seeing this?
