Hmmm, looks much worse than that, from my perspective. Seems ssh isn't
replacing telnet's use case at all:
http://www.spinics.net/lists/fedora-testing/msg93762.html

So, I will go test whether accessibility support is fixed in the Live
image. If not, I have no way to install Fedora without assistance from
someone. That would not be good at all.

Any reason not to just remove the telnet test now (or at least before

Seems telnet installs are again broken. I've filed bug 639629 Submitted
- Installation over telnet isn't working

This has happened more than once in the past. It would be REALLY REALLY
nice if this functionality could be among the things verified before new
distribution releases. Since it does keep coming up, shouldn't telnet
install be on some checklist?

One pure Fedora method that should work I have not tested with a
usbkey, but I will run a test this weekend, is to write the DVD iso to
the usbkey using the livecd-tools package - i.e.

livecd-iso-to-disk --format --reset-mbr
/path-to/Fedora-14-i386-DVD.iso /dev/sdb1 with the usbkey unmounted -
and see if that is the only step needed in preparing the usbkey for a
full install once the key is booted.

The main watchpoint that should be in the documentation if this boots
and begins the install is to make sure that when reaching the step to
setup writing grub it is important to not allow it to write grub to
the MBR of the usbkey but to switch drives so that the installer
writes grub to the MBR of the main internal drive (in this case
/dev/sda) - otherwise even if the install completes then it won't boot
since grub will not have been written to the correct MBR! This
certainly needs to be included in the documentation for this method
and I have seen a number of blog postings where users have set up
installs from a usbkey only to find that they get a grub prompt after
the install and they do not know how to proceed from that point (a
rescue disk can be used to write the MBR but those postings I have
seen appear to have no written solution to users asking what to do
next at that point)

By any chance are you using the radeon graphics driver? When you issue
'su -c init 3' from a xterm, does X get killed?

I had a similar experience. I blamed the radeon driver, but found that
booting with the kernel param 'nohz=off' greatly reduced the CPU time
eaten by X. (I don't have a 'root cause' for this one, sorry)

By default both OOPP and nspluginwrapper apply to flash-plugin, don't they?
It was the primary reason for creating both.

Anyway going away as not using the flash-plugin.

OOPP only works for a selected list of plugins, nspluginwrapper isn't
one of them, with the result that they don't conflict at all.

Since Firefox 3.6.4 it features its own "native" variant of nspluginwrapper
called OOPP (Out Of Process Plugins).

Unaware how well SELinux handles the protection via nspluginwrapper, OOPP, how
it is setup when both nspluginwrapper and OOPP are active etc.

I think you could just edit /etc/sysconfig/nspluginwrapper , adding
:libflashplayer* to IGNORE_WRAP

Cheers

New BugZapper Introduction

2010-10-02 Thread Testing Lab
Greetings to all Linux Geeks.

My name is Julio Font from the enchanted island of Puerto Rico, and I am
looking forward to make a contribution on the testing stage of applications
in order to report possible security vulnerabilities and bugs. As part of my
experience, I had the opportunity to perform a functionality test of SELinux
and due to numerous testing, a bug was found that allow a program to execute
allowing network access in violation of policy definition.
As a result, an account was opened with Red Hat bug report and the entire
bug was submitted. Some indication were followed, but the problem continued.
This occurred during a testing in Fedora 13 current package.

I will appreciate your acceptance to this group and look forward to make
proper functionality and vulnerability testing of Fedora 14, and its
features.
