configuration for NFS ISO, HD and HD ISO installation methods. I don't
believe there are plans to remove loader handling for package repository
access methods. Which means, Fedora will still support traditional
installation methods available by way of ''askmethod''.
Ok, if it's still supported, there should be tests covering it.

 > Perhaps we need to rename/rethink these different tests?

Yeah, and your grouping idea reminds me a way to do it: Combine current
 [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:Installation_Source Install
source](except install source on Media tests) and
 [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:Repository Package repository]
together, naming it as 'Installation repository'. In this category, cases
are sub-categoried by http, NFS, NFSISO and CD/DVD. How does this sound?

 > The two functions that need verification are ...
 > 1. the loader handling/setup of a given installation repository. I'm
thinking these are the operations that dictate how the 'Installation repo'
is setup. For some boot methods, this is handled for us (e.g. DVD creates
a CDROM repo, boot.iso and pxeboot don't add any 'installation repo')
 > 2. the graphical repository dialog allowing for additional repos, repo
removal, and existing repo edits. These are mostly manual (except for
 kickstart) functions.

the following scenarios (most of which are already tests, but perhaps need
 adjustment/rename):

 Current test is:
InstallSourceBootIso] (using default retrieved mirror repo)

 >  * variation(s):
 > 1. Boot with: 'askmethod' and manually input HTTP repo
 Current test is:
InstallSourceHttp], need rename it and modify the content about 'install
 source' part.
 > 2. Boot with: repo=http://server/path/to/repo
 Current test is:

 QA:Testcase_Http_Repository]
 > 3. Use ftp://server/path/to/repo
 > 4. Use ftp://user:pass@server/path/to/repo

If we include FTP tests in HTTP tests, these two can be included in the
above two http cases as a choice to test?

 > 5. Configure proxy=[protocol://][username[:password]@]host[:port]
No test case yet. I think this can be included as an optional step in the
 http repo tests?

 > 2. Installation repository - NFS

 Current test is:
 QA:Testcase_Additional_NFS_Repository]

 >   1. Boot with: repo=nfs::/
 Current test is:
 QA:Testcase_Nfs_Repository]

 and 2. Boot with 'askmethod'?
InstallSourceNfs] is the test to be adjusted.

 > 3. Installation repository - NFS ISO

 > 1. Boot with 'askmethod' and manually enter NFS ISO server + path
 Current test to be adjusted:
 InstallSourceNfsIso]

 >  * variation(s):
 >   1. Boot with: repo=nfsiso[:options]::/
No test case covering it yet. Need to create it.

 InstallSourceHardDrive]
 > * variations:
 >   1. repo=hd::/
 > 2. repo=hd:LABEL=:/
 > 3. repo=hd:UUID=:/

No test case yet. The above three can be combined into one test in my
 opinion.

 > 5. Install repository - CD/DVD ISO

 Current test is

 InstallSourceDvd].

No test case yet. Do we need cover these two? I don't think they are
 common use cases.

drkonqi (kde crash-handler) script expects debuginfo-install to be present,
but we currently don't have a dependency on it.

Looks like we'll need to make the script more robust or add the dep.

You cannot switch back to gnome2 per se, since that no longer exits. But
I have updated https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/Gnome3 with some
more concrete information about how to force the fallback mode.

Fantastic and it is wonderfully timed to become available, even if a
little slow, exactly when we need it to solve a real issue.

Thank you for doing the work needed to make it available.

The retrace server is being deployed for F15 right now. This process can
take a few hours, so we will send an update (with links to required
tools) as soon as it finishes. Btw even when the server is up&running it
will be probably slow and can't take many simultaneous requests at once
- it's still running on a testing HW (which should change soon).

As you can see that quite a number of bugs exist, but no Alpha blocker
bugs were found on this build by executing the cases. Many thanks for
the leadership of robatino as well as the participation of jreznik and
jaycee. Hope next time there will be more testers providing test results
on the pages. :)

Cheers,

The latest bunch of GNOME3 updates (2.91.90) included an updated
package gsettings-desktop-schemas-0.1.7-1.fc15. Is it that what you
mean? -C

I got the very same issue yesterday, except that I've been running rawhide
for a while. It was actually related to glib schemas not being updated
according to latest revisions of the shell.

The new ABRT version will have option to use the retrace server instead
of the local retracing. The new version should be out in a few days (at
least in git and my personal repo). Before that anyone interested can
find the retrace client cmdline tool (better than the mentioned script)
in retrace branch in abrt git.

There was something like it:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/DebuginfoFS

but it's dead now, if they are some people interested to bring this idea
back, it would be awesome.

gnome-shell and updates-testing...

2011-02-24 Thread Rob Healey
Dear Eric John Nagel:

After the install, did you update the computer using the fedora and
updates-testing repos?

I had no problems until after I did the update!

Sincerely,
Rob G. Healey
