Self-introduction: Tushar Kumar
Hello world! I'm Tushar Kumar. I really like using Fedora Linux and I've been using it from past 5 years. I like how things are done here in Fedora Project and I like people here. I joined Fedora Docs team recently and made some contributions. I would like to keep exploring this wonderful Linux and so, I would like to join test team but more importantly, I would like to stay with Fedora Project. I am really enjoying it. :) Thank you. Windows 8.1 and F21, BIOS in UEFI Mode
Hi, so far I could only run F21 in Legacy Mode of BIOS (Acer Aspire E15 Laptop, I think more or less designed for Windows 8.1) F21 on an external disk via USB. Because of problems F21 - Windows 8.1 (stayed in freezing mode after shutdown - a hint from Kamil and Chuck), now I shut down Windows in a command line with shutdown -s -t 0, Windows is now totally shut down, no freezing mode. Tried to run F21 in Bios UEFI mode, installation of F21 Workstation Beta TC3 X86-64 on the external disk successful, but on boot of F21 from the external disk there is the error message Boot Loader has not verified loaded image, no boot possible. This TC3 Build loaded on the same disk using Legacy mode and booted in Legacy mode, is ok. Any idea if am doing something wrong? Kind Regards -- test mailing list test@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test

If you pick the generic boot something from the drive, it gives that error. But there should also be an entry called Fedora. That one will work. Once when I rebooted, it wasn't there, but when I restarted the computer again it was back. Are you using the EFI boot menu or just letting it automatically pick something? -- test mailing list test@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test

Hi, Computer is started in UEFI mode. After running through the UEFI bios, I get a boot menue (I think it is the Grub2 boot menue ?). But there is no difference choosing in this boot menue: Fedora, with Linux 3.17.0-301.fc21.x86_64 or Fedora, Linux 0 rescue The system answer is always the same: Boot loader has not verified loaded image. System compromised. Haltet. Is it possible, that the external pata disk, where the F21 system is on, is the reason? Currently I don't have an external sata disk to try. Windows 8.1 and F21, BIOS in UEFI Mode
Hi Samuel, I hit the F12 button then I got the menue: 1) USB HDD: Samsung SP.. - the external disk with F21 on it 2) Windows Boot Manager .. But also choosing USB HDD in this menue results in the same error message. In a Fedora Forum I found a thread describing the same problem for F20: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/39126/bootloader-has-not-verified-loaded-image/ The UEFI branch of this Acer Laptop has Secure Boot set to standard, but I can not switch off Secure Boot, it seems to be blocked. I will ask the Acer support on Monday and then continue. Anyway I booted again the TC3 Live DVD in UEFI bios mode, installed YUM and reinstalled grub2-efi (in a terminal, su, yum reinstall grub2-efi) I got grub2-efi.x86_64 1:2.02-0.8.fc21 installed. Then run the installation to the external disk - same bad result, booting not possible. Possibly I have to find a way to disable the Secure Boot.
