Re: Windows 8.1 and F21, BIOS in UEFI Mode
Please reply to the previous message instead of creating a new one so the conversation stays threaded. On 10/18/2014 10:15 PM, Joerg Lechner wrote: Hi Samuel, I hit the F12 button then I got the menue: 1) USB HDD: Samsung SP.. - the external disk with F21 on it 2) Windows Boot Manager .. But also choosing USB HDD in this menue results in the same error message. That's the wrong entry. It seems it's not picking up the Fedora entry from the hard disk for some reason. I didn't look closer to see what the difference was between the two entries. I'm not clear on whether it finds the entry from the hard drive or the one that Fedora created when it was installed sticks around somehow. Possibly I have to find a way to disable the Secure Boot. That would definitely be a solution. -- test mailing list test@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test

Obviously no one else is seeing this. It just happened again in F21, and for the first time, it happened in the middle of a transaction, so there's nothing preventing that (but yum-complete-transaction was able to finish it, at least). I'm guessing it has to do with my having slower hardware than most other testers, like with https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=946964 , so no other testers will see it until we get closer to release (and maybe not until after). Re:RE: Windows 8.1 and F21, BIOS in UEFI Mode
Hi, this problem is solved, F21 TC3 Workstation x86_64 and also Win 8.1 now boot in UEFI Mode, Secure Mode disabled. There had to be set a Supervisor Password in the Bios, to disable the Secure Mode (found this in a thread of an Acer forum). Nevertheless it would be nice to boot Linux and Windows in Secure Mode. Thank You to Samuel for his advices. F21/gnome3 and nxclient from nomachine.com
Hi all testers, my local desktop is gnome3, and I'm running a fully updated F21. I installed nxclient-3.5.0 from nomachine.com and established some (gnome) connections to two types of remote computers: One is Scientific Linux, and one is Ubuntu with kernel-3.2.0-70-generic: I have configured the remote displays full screen. Both remote systems don't support gnome3. My problem: After having established the connection (independent from the remote system), the top menubar remains insensitive, so I can't call it's pulldown menus. Additionally, if I need to logout, I have to execute gnome-session-quit. In F20, I have no such problem: the full screen is operable. Any recipe?
