Hi Rex,

thank you for your answers (both here and on bugzilla).
I apologize for the questions, but as I keep saying I'm new and I'm
still learning.

1) Is there anything further I should do with the bug-report? Are other
steps required or it's ok as it is now?

2) Then; sorry but I didn't understand... Should I mark the failure as a
blocker, even though the bug it's now solved?

Kind regards.

Yum SIGSEGV

2015-03-28 Thread Russel Winder
Hi,

I have a workstation and three laptops running Fedora Rawhide. I did
my daily update just now (I point to the Kent mirror rather than the
Fedora mirrors so as to ensure all machines see the same repository,
it updates mid-afternoon +00:00). Workstation and two laptops upgraded
fine. One laptop is having troubles with the packages:

gdm.x86_641:3.16.0.1-2.fc23
  rawhide
openmpi.x86_641.8.4-6.20150324gitg9ad2aa8.fc23
  rawhide
openmpi-devel.x86_64 1.8.4-6.20150324gitg9ad2aa8.fc23
  rawhide

trying to install them causes yum to fail:

…
Total size: 9.0 M
Is this ok [y/d/N]: y
Downloading packages:
Running transaction check
Running transaction test
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

though I am, not sure where the core is dumped to, it isn't .

It happens if I do gdm individually, the other two enforce each other
so come as a pair, and they have the same problem.

I have no idea how to work out what is going wrong here so as to fix
it, this is clearly a fault on the one laptop.

Any help tracking this down would be most welcome…

Yes, it's a blocker, but hopefully it won't come to that (the proposed
updater replacement just got stable autokarma in -testing).

QA:Testcase_desktop_updates (notifications) failure on KDE

2015-03-28 Thread Giulio 'juliuxpigface'
Hi guys,

I've just reported the bug
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1206760 encountered while I
was testing the behavior of a freshly-installed Beta-TC5 with KDE. As
you surely know, this is described by part of
"QA:Testcase_desktop_updates" and is one of the cases listed under
"Release-blocking desktops: x86 / x86_64".

What am I exactly supposed to do now? Should I propose it as a "blocker"
or "freeze exception"?

Anyway, more testing (especially from experienced users) is obviously
welcome! Thank you in advance.

Kind regards.

Will this mean that nautilus will not run completely on
Gnome/Wayland?

Well, I mean, it means what it says. It can't display icons on
Wayland. I'm not sure what else you're asking?

Is this a bug or a feature? Additionally, will this mean that nautilus will
be never running under wayland?

Nautilus runs just fine under wayland.
It does not support drawing the desktop yet though.

Hi drago01,

If I login on my F22 box to a gnome on wayland session, no nautilus is
running (maybe it crashed when loggin in), so no menu appears (for
example for "Open terminal") if clicking the right mouse button. So I
can't confirm that nautilus is running well :-(

If the trying to start nemo, then nemo dumps core:
Glib: ERROR:ghash.c:373:g_hash_table_lookup_node: assertion failed:
(hash_table->ref_count >0)

Aborted (core dumped)

Kind regards

Re: F22: nautilus will not allow desktop icons if using session type "Gnome on Wayland"

2015-03-28 Thread Giulio 'juliuxpigface'
Hi Joachim,

I think it's not a bug, the warning is clear enough. I'd say that this
feature is not ready yet, but the developers are aware of it and know
it's missing. The message is like a placeholder that warns users, but
it's not a real error/exception.

But hey, this is just my opinion and experienced users may know
something I don't :)...

Regards

// Giulio (juliuxpigface)
