Re: DNS not working in 0225 compose

2017-02-25 Thread Bowen Wang
All right. Because I don't have network cable in my hard, I can't test if it is
working under wired condition.
But when I logged into the system, the network service is not working. There is
no icon on the task bar to
indicate whether you are connected to the internet or which way(wifi or wired)
you are connecting to the
internet. Also when I try to open the network manager, I found I can't open it.
I can see it in the application
menu, but when I tried to open it, it is just cannot be opened. Maybe the
network driver is down?

The message indicates that your network is "down". Since the other
kernel works I would suspect the network driver for your wireless or
wired interface. Does testing with the "other" interface -- wired or
wireless -- produce the same result?

NetworkManager applet should give visual clues about connection status,
or from a terminal use 'nmcli' or 'ip'. Also check the system logs for
any errors related to network stack.

DNS not working in 0225 compose

2017-02-25 Thread Bowen Wang
Hi,
I just upgrade my Fedora rawhide to 0225 snapshot, I can log into the system,
but when I try to use network applications such as
Firefox, it cannot open pages. Then I tried
ping www.google.com
the terminal says that the service is unknown. So I think maybe it is the DNS
problem. But a weird thing is that if I used a older
version kernel, the problem is gone, right now I am writing this email using
4.11.0.rc0.git2.1, the whole system is working good.
