What version of selinux-policy do you have? Make sure it's at
least selinux-policy-3.14.2-34.fc29.

Slow display manager on Fedora 29 Workstation - am I the only one who's seeing this?

2018-09-13 Thread M. Edward (Ed) Borasky
I've got a workstation that I'm testing with Fedora 29 Workstation. I
installed it over the network using the "everything boot" network
installer. Relative to other Linux systems, including Silverblue 28,
the system takes a long time to display the GDM greeter, and once I
log in, it takes a long time to come up with a desktop.

This machine has an AMD "Bonaire" GPU and I've had plenty of kernel
and Wayland / X issues with it over the years, so my first guess is
that this is kernel / GPU related and not something everyone is
seeing. But before I go collecting log files I'm curious if other
people are seeing this.

F29-armfhp does tracer work?

2018-09-13 Thread Robert Moskowitz

I did the dnf update from testing-updates that updated ~130 rpms.

I then installed tracer and ran it.

It did report anything.

Does it not work or is it that I installed tracer after the update?

Perhaps tracer should be part of the base install?

thanks

Heads up: today's rawhide and F29 updates-testing break gnome-shell login

2018-09-13 Thread Kalev Lember

Hi all,

It turns out mozjs60 60.2.0 (in F29 updates-testing and rawhide)
silently broke ABI and that broke gjs that gnome-shell uses. I've
rebuilt gjs; if you've already updated and can't log in, then
gjs-1.54.0-3.fc29 and gjs-1.54.0-3.fc30 should help.

https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2018-bc166c0e29 has the
rebuilt gjs.

Hope this helps someone,
Kalev

F29 and BZ 1627963

2018-09-13 Thread Ed Greshko
Hi,

I've filed https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1627963 against F28 and
I've
tested the latest kernel 4.18.7-200 from koji.

It is still the case where the latest builds of the kernel breaks some mice.
The
buttons work, but no cursor movement.  I've not been able to test
this on F29 but I suspect it won't be fixed there either.  Should this be
considered
a blocker?

Yes, we enable updates-testing on all pre-release releases to ensure
the updates get the widest testing possible so please do install them.
