Re: [Proposal] Test Cases for the Fedora Audio Test Day.
Is there some value in running the test cases in a vm before switching to bare metal? I thought I'd do a dry run in a vm to collect all the bits and pieces. Pane is dead while installing from boot.iso
Hi; I went off on a tangent last week and downloaded a boot.iso on September 8, then again on September 11. qemu-system-x86_64 -m 2000 -machine accel=kvm -boot menu=on -hda ${IMAGE} -hdb $PWD/qemu.qcow2.img The September 8 normal install returned X startup failed falling back to text mode. So I downloaded September 11. I got the same error. Remaining with the September 11 boot.iso I tried the Troubleshooting | Basic Graphics installation and found Pane is dead. Returning to September 8 boot.iso I tried the Troubleshooting | Basic Graphics installation and successfully installed Gnome with LIbreOffice. The installation was with US Spanish. If I'd been thinking I'd of downloaded one of the testing images. I hope this is of some help. guide me
Shailendra,Welcome, I'm semi-new to Fedora, and totally new to this list, therefore we have something in common. (I make many errors! Sometimes intentially. Perhaps we differ in this regard :) Observation has guided me while introducing myself to Fedora this past year. For instance, as an observation if this is a virtual office we are standing in a hallway maybe just a floor, or two below the executive suite, and that is not to say that these folks in the offices, and cubicles on this floor aren't talented, and creative. It is simply to say that here virtual ping pong balls flying over head are more likely than upstairs, and that this is a good place to be standing.I sip on my coffee now... I always have a cup of coffee in hand, and am known for putting out fires. If required to I can use the coffee to put out a fire. Right? I'm using many to many words.I downloaded the robotics live 20140415 image and will use it once I hit send. There are other targeted images, some h ave been added more recently than the robotics spin, and any of these might be a good place to research the fields that interest you. I look up bugs I see in Bugzilla all the time. If something interests you read the code. Reading code is a great way to learn. If this post looks funny it is because I'm using my email service's webmail client while reading the list archive in another browser window. Using the Rawhide appliance builds.
Hi Folks; I downloaded the i386 appliance build (qcow2) and found the Username Password combination I tried failed. The newly edited Rawhide page on the Fedora Wiki pointed me toward the Dashboard and hence I became aware of the applience builds. I'm sure I can make the case for the effort to create these appliances builds once I can use the front door. Also, I tried the following only a few days ago in a script: qemu-system-x86_64 -machine accel=kvm -boot menu=on -cdrom $INSTALLATION_MEDIA -hdb $TARGET -m 2000 Where the installation media is the f20 ISO, and the target is an SD card, in this case /dev/sdb. I only had limited success: The /boot partition was not found in a normal boot, was found on a uefi install Qemu boot, but not a bios boot. I've not yet double checked my successful case, or thought out the next step. I was pondering where to raise the issue/question concurrently with downloading the appliance build.
