f41-backgrounds available on both Rawhide and F41 branch
Hello everyone The default wallpaper for Fedora 41 (original for Fedora 40) is now available on both Rawhide and F41 repository. Users running either Rawhide or the branched Fedora 41 will immediately notice the changes after updates. A small but notable change is the disabled supplemental wallpapers sub-packages as the community submission remained inactive for a long time. In consequence, spins maintainers using the default wallpapers can safely remove that sub-package. Rebasing Blender 4.2 for Rawhide and Fedora 40
Hello team, Blender 4.2 currently failed on Rawhide due to Python 3.13 API changes and the issue is already reported[1]. Patch welcome. The plan is to build for Fedora 40 containing no major soversion changes. Users will notice majority of add-ons are now relocated as as extensions similar to GNOME approach [2]. Due to the minimal requirement for OpenImageIO 2.5 series from upstream, Fedora 39 will not receive update. In a future, Fedora n-1 will only receive LTS version. Additionally, the build failed on s390x architecture due endian issue with zstd-read file leading to temporarily exclusion.[3[ [1] https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/123871 [2] https://extensions.blender.org [3] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2299704 -- Luya Tshimbalanga Fedora Design Team Fedora Design Suite maintainer -- ___ test mailing list -- test@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to test-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test@lists.fedoraproject.org Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
[EPEL9] Blender 3.3.3 available
After several attempts, Blender is finally available for EPEL9 as 3.3 LTS series. Major differences compared to its Fedora counterpart is the minimal dependencies based on blender_lite.cmake[2] thus light version. As the result, functions like Cycle Rendering will be unavailable but Eevee, Blender internal rendering, is by default. This release is basically a starting point to gradually implement missing dependencies needed for some other options. EPEL co-maintainers are welcome to further improve the support. Blender 2.90 release exclusive to 64 bits arch and Wayland
Blender 2.90 was released few week ago which a noticeable change, it is now exclusively available for 64 bits architecture meaning 32 bit arch support is discontinued by upstream. For that reason, the build will only apply for Rawhide and Fedora 33. Maintainers for armv7 architecture are welcome to bring improvement. Additionally, Blender 2.90 is the first release to include initial support of Wayland (currently disabled by default) meaning Wayland developers can help Blender team to effectively improve the codes. f33-backgrounds available in the repository
Hello team and testers, f33-backgrounds is now available for testing in Fedora 33 repository. The major change is the time of day enabled by default (default animated background) on Workstation Edition and Design Suite Labs. As a result, the animated subpackage is eliminated from this release. For users running on different desktop environments, both MATE and Cinnamon inherit that function and their respective spin maintainers can optionally enable. Selecting a a separate default background with their time of day version is now possible for KDE and XFCE which lacks support of time of day features. Developers are free to provide a patch to enable. For installation on GNOME or Cinnamon, sudo dnf install f33-backgrounds-{base,gnome} For MATE, sudo dnf install f33-backgrounds-{base,mate} For KDE, sudo dnf install f33-backgrounds-{base,kde} For XFCE, sudo dnf install f33-backgrounds-{base,xfce} Thank you for testing -- Luya Tshimbalanga Fedora Design Team Fedora Design Suite maintainer ___ test mailing list -- test@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to test-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test@lists.fedoraproject.org

The cause of issue was the router itself. After restarting it, Gnome printer setting was able to detect my printer on the network. The ip address of that printer display its web interface. Another problem was the network scanner. I had to check the printer configuration using system-config-printer and run the setting to make sure everything went smoothly. This time the Device URI is "hp:/net/Photosmart_eStn_C510_series?zc=HPFFBBC9" instead of "socket://192.168.1.67:9100" as read by printer setting from gnome-control-center. Network scan can be now read by simple-scan. Interesting enough, hp-probe is broken because it cannot detect eStation C510a on the network. However, wired connect issue seemed resolved meaning I will install FC5 RC3 on my desktop. I posted messages files for comparison and will submit wireshark file shortly.
