Indeed, content is missing from the initrd.img (including init and
loader). See
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=437175&action=diff

Dennis Gilmore is investigating the pungi logs.

This smells like corrupted initrd image.

Check the sha sum of the cd/dvd to make sure it's not the culprit.

I've hit this bug also on gentoo-sources so is related to the kernel itself.

anaconda hasn't even started running at this point, so it's a little
disingenuous to call it "a kernel panic in the first stage of
anaconda".

I can confirm this using Fedora-14-Alpha-x86_64-netinst.iso on a 64
bit KVM VM as well.

Re: [Test-Announce] Fedora 14 Alpha RC1 Available Now!

2010-08-05 Thread He Rui
Hi all,

There's a kernel panic in the first stage of anaconda in x86_64 boot.iso
(probably in other x86_64 images as well):

Bug 621775 - kernel panic- not syncing: VFS : unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(9,2)
