Re: [TeX-Music] \varline

2007-07-03 Thread Andre Van Ryckeghem
In traumerei of Schumann,
http://icking-music-archive.org/scores/schumann/traeum.pdf
there \varline is used for making sloped hairpins, they are obsolete now if
using postscript hairpins:

% #1= origine #2= lungnezza #3= altezza linea inferiore #4= altezza linea
superiore
% #1= oorsprong #2= lengte #3= stijging onderste lijn #4= stijging bovenste
lijn
\def\slopecresc#1#2#3#4{\rlap{\varline{#1}{#2\noteskip}{#3}}%
  \rlap{\varline{#1}{#2\noteskip}{#4}}}%
%

I used this in one of my editions. The macros \arpg and \arpgu are in fact
defined in pmx.tex but I repeated the definitions here for clarity.

Where \varline isn't sufficient for drawing the postscript based
graphics utility 'pstricks' comes in handy, see
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/graphics/pstricks/base/
